What is Facial Gestures Recognition (FGR)?
MirroCool, a very smart mirror, uses Facial Recognition technology (FGR) and performs a faceprint for each registered household user. Think of a Faceprint as a digital scan of a human face, used for identifying individuals from the unique characteristics of the facial structure. FGR works by creating a unique faceprint comparing 70 different facial features to understand their intentions.
How does the MirroCool recognize registered users in a household?
With FGR. Each faceprint is associated with a designated account. The MirroCool takes a photo of the person standing in front of it with its HD camera. Once the photo is taken, the smart mirror reads it, creates a temporary faceprint and finally matches it up with a registered user.
How do you create an account?
Create an account with the MirroCloud app. Download the app from the AppStore or Google Play.
Is there a maximum number of recognizable faces in a household?
No, there are no limits. A device may have as many registered users as desired.
Can I just turn it off?
Yep. You can easily turn it off. So easy.
How does MirroCool Smart Mirror recognize the user when the camera is turned off?
The camera is turned off only in "Privacy" mode. In this case, the user can activate his profile through the mobile app.
It’s a bathroom mirror. Isn’t that invasive?
And who said mirror has to be in the bathroom? It doesn’t. You may place it in your hallway, boudoir or living room. You pick where you want the Smart Mirror to be located and where it will help you the most to increase your productivity.
Also, you may easily turn off the Mirror if you are concerned that it will photograph you in various stages of undressing (it won’t!).
How about privacy issues?
Your privacy is protected since any photos that are uploaded go to MirroCloud, our secure and protected server.
To secure the connection between MirroCloud and the mirror device we are using two-way SSL certificate-based mutual authentication.
I have a twin brother. Will MirroCool be able to tell us apart?
Of course, MirroCool will be able to because even with identical twins there are facial differences. FGR takes a faceprint that is unique to each individual.
What happens if you take a group selfie that includes non-registered users?
To take a selfie, the MirroCool has to recognize at least one registered user. Unregistered individuals will not be able to take a selfie with the device. When MirroCool identifies more than one face in front of the camera, it selects the one that is in the center of the view field and is closest to the device. The smart mirror takes a faceprint of that person and tries to match it to a registered user. Therefore, it is important that when taking a group shot, a designated user positions themselves in the center and the closest to the device.
How much storage do you offer in the cloud?
For now, we are offering up to 5GB. If there’s a need to increase the storage, we will eventually make it available.
How many functions are usable in other languages besides English?
At this time, the smart device features are available in English, Spanish, French, German, and Polish. As we expand, the language selection will increase.
As mirrors are often placed in the bathroom, next to water and the steam from a hot shower, are the mirrors waterproof/water-resistant?
MirroCool is waterproof with an IP rating of 65. The device is protected against:
- Dust tight;
- No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact;
- Water jets; water projected by a nozzle (6.3mm).

What countries will the MirroCool be shipped?
We will ship internationally. To some countries, additional shipping costs may apply as well as customs fees.
Is MirroCool Smart Mirror moisture-resistant? Is it safe to use in the bathroom?
Yes, MirroCool Smart Mirror has moisture-proof housing. There aren't any ports such as USB, Ethernet, or microphone; that's why the vapor does not penetrate to the electronics located inside the case. It has IP65 certification.
What is the thickness of the mirror?
MirroCool without a frame has a thickness of about 1.5cm, while the frame's thickness is 2.5cm.
What are the dimensions of the mirror?
At this stage, MirroCool Smart Mirror comes in 1 standard size: Dimensions: 60cm x 80cm.
What is the weight of MirroCool Smart Mirror?

Do you offer various mirror finishes?
At this stage, MirroCool is offered in two finishes:
- without a frame (Bathrooms - IP65 water resistant certified)
- with an aluminum frame, four color choices - silver, gold, black, and white (Hallway)
